Grenoble airport, Grenoble St Geoirs or Grenoble Isere is centrally located in the Rhone-Alpes and provides access to many of the major French ski resorts; it is most handy for the Southern Alps resorts of Alpe d'Huez and Les Deux Alpes with a helicopter transfer time of less than 30 minutes. Grenoble is also well situated for the resorts Meribel, Courchevel , Val Thorens, Val d'Isere, Tignes, Les Arcs and Megeve but is very much underutilised during the winter months. Flights from other airports are often diverted to Grenoble as it rarely suffers from poor weather conditions.
